Rules of Conduct
Last updated: 1 July 2026
These Rules of Conduct keep WoDBO Online fair, safe and enjoyable for everyone. They apply to every player, on every character, at all times — in the game, on our website and on our community channels.
By creating an account and playing WoDBO you agree to follow these rules. They form part of our Terms of Service, and breaking them can lead to penalties up to and including a permanent ban or deletion of your account. Our team enforces the rules at its reasonable discretion, including for behaviour that clearly goes against their spirit even if it is not listed word for word.
1. Account security & ownership
You are responsible for everything that happens on your account, so keep it safe.
- Our staff will never ask you for your password. Anyone who does is trying to scam you.
- Use a unique login and a strong, unique password, and enable two-factor authentication where available.
- Do not share, lend or give away your account — you remain responsible for it at all times.
- Buying, selling or trading accounts, characters, in-game items or currency for real money (outside the game's own systems) is strictly forbidden.
2. Character names
Names must be readable, unique and appropriate. The following names are not allowed and will be name-locked (forced to change):
- Offensive, vulgar, hateful or sexual names.
- Names that are not real names, or are written in an invalid or unreadable format.
- Unsuitable names, including references to real people, brands, drugs and similar.
- Names that pretend to be staff (for example "Admin" or "GameMaster") or imply a special status.
- Names that advertise or incite the breaking of these rules.
3. Fair play & third-party software
WoDBO is meant to be played by you, at your keyboard.
- The built-in WoDBO Bot may be used only while you are at your computer and able to respond within 1–2 minutes. Fully unattended (AFK) botting is not allowed.
- Client modifications and external programs — macros, auto-clickers, taskers, packet tools, trainers and similar — are strictly forbidden.
- Do not use more game clients than the game permits, and do not use multi-clienting to gain an unfair advantage.
- Hacking, attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts or our systems, or interfering with the game's protections is forbidden and may be reported to the authorities.
4. Bugs & exploits
If something looks broken, report it — do not use it.
- Report every bug or exploit to the team as soon as you find it.
- Abusing bugs, game weaknesses or exploits — for example to duplicate items or to multiply dungeon or event rewards — is a serious offence punishable up to deletion of your account.
Bans issued for bug abuse cannot be lifted or bought back. Reporting a bug responsibly, on the other hand, may be rewarded.
5. Chat & communication
Use the right channel and keep it civil. Public channels are shared by everyone.
- Use channels for their purpose: Trade for trading, Help for questions, and the Saga and Quest channels for finding a team.
- No spamming or flooding.
- No illegal or off-topic advertising.
- Keep public statements on-topic, and in English in the English channels.
- No offensive, hateful or harassing statements.
- Do not incite or encourage others to break the rules.
6. Respect for the team
- Do not threaten or insult Gamemasters or other staff.
- Do not pretend to have influence over how the rules are enforced.
- Do not send false or malicious reports.
Decisions made by the team are final. If you believe a decision was wrong, contact support calmly through the proper channels.
7. Penalties & enforcement
Depending on the severity and history of the offence, the team may apply one or more of the following measures:
- A warning.
- A chat mute.
- A name-lock (forcing a character rename).
- A temporary account ban (typically 7 days).
- An IP ban.
- A permanent ban or deletion of the account.
The team chooses the appropriate measure at its reasonable discretion. Some penalties — such as bans for bug abuse — cannot be removed. Where paying to remove a ban is possible at all, it is described in our Terms of Service.
8. Reporting violations
Help us keep WoDBO fair by reporting problems:
- In-game: use the rule-violation and bug-report tools, or message a staff member in the Help channel.
- On Discord: reach the community and staff for support and announcements.
You can also contact us by e-mail for anything that needs staff attention:
9. Changes to these rules
We may update these Rules of Conduct from time to time to keep the game fair and to reflect new features. The version published here is always the current one; significant changes will be announced through our usual channels. Continuing to play after a change takes effect means you accept the updated rules.
